Eric's Diary

February 5, 2004-Today's my birthday! Sorry, Daddy, I know you wanted me to come on leap year but my quarters were getting a bit crowded. Besides I was feeling sorry for Mama.

February 6,2004-My first day in the outside world! I think I'll be okay with it but it sure takes some getting used to. Most of the time I'm with Mama and Daddy and that feels okay but sometimes some nurse comes and takes me away. I get a little scared then. Once when they did that I hollered really loud. When I finally got back to Mama she told me she'd heard me all the way back in her room. Another thing, sometimes a nurse comes and sticks this thing in my bottom. They say it's to take my temperature whatever that is. I wish Daddy and Mama wouldn't let them do that. Maybe I'll have to really scream next time so they know how much I hate it.

This afternoon things got a little stuffy. I don't quite know what was going on but all of a sudden I was handed all around to lots of strange people. It seemed every time I felt a new pair of hands holding me, Daddy would point this thing at me and a bright light would flash. I heard the words Aunt, Uncle, Grandpa and Grandma quite often tonight. Maybe someday I'll figure out who all those people were. Actually I didn't really mind but after an hour or so I got really tired.

February 7,2004-Finally I get to go home! They put me in this snuggly seat and bundled me all up. I was so cozy and there was this really neat swinging motion, it just put me to sleep. I slept all the way home. After I got home though I really wanted out of that seat. Once the swinging motion stopped I wanted out. Mama wanted to take pictures of me in the car seat but I just wasn't too happy about it as you can tell if you ever get a chance to see the pictures . I think I'm going to like it here. For sure as long as Daddy and Mama stay close by.

February 9-10,2004-Grandma Stoltzfus was here. She sure likes to hold me!
